OUR LEGACY
The 1s Company Governor's Foot Guard was created in 1771 and is the nations oldest continuously serving military organization in the United Staes with an unbroken lineage. The 1st Company's Foot Guard was created to serve and protect the governor between his travels between New Haven and Hartford. Today the GFG providess escort to the Govenor, Lutenant Govenor and various dignatries throughout the state of Connecticut.
